District 18’s Special Election Winner!
The floor of the gymnasium at Washington school buzzed with excitement and anticipation. Dems, exhilarated by the sudden prospect of adding one more Democratic seat to the currently unbalanced, giddy-with-power Congress, waited with eyes wide open, ready to get behind whomever should win the 50% plus one vote.
It only took two ballots! Gina Cerelli got the majority the first vote with Connor coming in behind her, followed by Iovino and the rest trickling down to zero. On the second ballot, he easily won, beating out Gina Cerilli, Mike Crossey, Pam Iovino, Bob Solomon, Rueben Brock, and Keith Seewald.
Connor gave an energetic 5 min speech before the special election vote took place. This was a convincing follow up to all the hand-written notes, typed letters, phones calls, and more phone calls and letters, and more phone calls yet, and even phone calls from several of his supporters! Additionally, he met one on one with most of the committee members from Allegheny County.
Connor will be a smart candidate with a hearty chance to beat Republican choice candidate Rick Saccone of Elizabeth, PA.
I am in Colorado and can’t vote for you but it does my heart good to see the quality Dems that are running! We need more like you!!!!
